This policy explains what personal information Butcher Babies collects when you visit or buy from this website, what we do with it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as we need.
Who we are
This website is the official Butcher Babies merchandise store, run by Butcher Babies. You can reach us any time at bb@butcherbabies.com or by mail at PO Box 400276, Las Vegas, NV 89178, USA.
What we collect
When you place an order
Your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number (if you give one), what you ordered, and your order history. Payment is handled by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
When you create an account
Your name, email address and password (stored in encrypted form), plus your saved addresses and past orders so you can view them again.
When you join our email list
Your email address, and the date and time you signed up and agreed to hear from us. You can join through the sign-up popup, or by ticking the “Email me about new merch, tour dates and sales” box at checkout (it is never ticked for you). If you tick it at checkout we also keep a note of that choice with your order. In some regions we first send you an email asking you to confirm.
Automatically, when you use the site
Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived. Parts of this are collected only if you allow it in our cookie settings (see “Cookies” below).
Your location
The tour section has a “Near me” tab. If you tap it, your browser asks permission to use your location. The calculation happens in your browser. Your location is not sent to us or stored.
Why we use it
- To fill your order and run your account: take payment, ship, send order updates and handle returns or support. We need this to carry out the sale.
- To meet legal obligations: tax, accounting and fraud prevention records.
- To send marketing email, only if you sign up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to measure our advertising, only if you allow analytics and marketing cookies.
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
Where the law requires a basis for using your information, we rely on: carrying out our contract with you (orders), legal obligations (records), your consent (marketing email, analytics and marketing cookies), and our legitimate interest in running and securing the store.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the store, and only what they need:
- Payment providers: Stripe and WooCommerce Payments, and PayPal, to process payments.
- Fulfillment and shipping partners: our print-on-demand and fulfillment partners (such as Printify and Printful) and shipping carriers receive your name, address and contact details so your order can be made and delivered.
- Email service: Brevo, to manage our email list and send messages.
- Analytics and advertising (only with your consent): Google Analytics, and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) for advertising measurement.
- Hosting and security: SiteGround hosts the site, and Sucuri provides a firewall that screens traffic.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Our Nightbloom collection is also available on a separate store run on Shopify. If you click through to it, that store’s own privacy policy applies to what you do there.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. We use three kinds:
- Essential (always on): these keep your cart and checkout working and remember your cookie choice and whether you have already seen our sign-up popup. They are required for the site to function.
- Analytics (only if you allow): Google Analytics cookies, which tell us which pages are visited and how people reach the site.
- Marketing (only if you allow): Meta (Facebook) cookies, which help us measure our ads and show them to relevant people.
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose. Analytics and marketing tools do not load until you agree. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although the cart and checkout will not work without the essential ones.
The videos on the home page come from YouTube. A video’s player loads only when you press play, and it then behaves as it would on YouTube itself, which may set its own cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order and account records as long as needed to serve you and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. Email list information is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics information is kept for the period set in our analytics account. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to: show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a copy in a portable format, restrict or object to how we use it, and stop using it where we rely on your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing or by changing your cookie settings. To make a request, email bb@butcherbabies.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for advertising. We do not sell personal information. Marketing cookies run only if you allow them, and you can turn them off in “Cookie settings” at any time. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Where your information goes
We are based in the United States, and the services we use may store or process information in the United States and other countries. Where information is transferred out of your region, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), a firewall, and trusted payment providers so card details never pass through our own servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date at the top.
